IL SB2152

Establishes a voucher program administered by the State Board of Education for parents whose school district did not offer full-time, in-person instruction as the primary method of instruction during a school year.

Issues vouchers upon parent request if the student was enrolled in the district, the school board declined to provide full-time in-person instruction, and the parent withdrew the student because of that decision.

Voucher amount equals the per pupil amount distributed to the school district under Section 18-18.15 and Article 14, prorated based on the student's enrollment length during the school year.

Voucher funds reimburse parents for costs incurred to provide in-person instruction in a substituted educational setting, including nonpublic schools or home schools.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
