Students in grades 9-12 or K-12 students with an IEP (staff-to-student ratio of 1:5) at specified schools may be transported in multi-function school activity buses (MFSAB) for curriculum-related activities except regular home-to-school routes.

MFSAB drivers must hold a valid school bus driver permit and comply with requirements in Sections 6-106.11, 6-106.12, 12-707.01, 13-101, and 13-109 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.

Students participating in agrarian-related activities may be transported in a second division pick-up truck (12,000 pounds or less with enclosed cabin seating up to 6 passengers with seatbelts).

Subsection (b) does not apply to second division vehicles used for parades, homecomings, or similar noncurriculum-related school activities.

Act takes effect upon becoming law.
