Changes firearm sentencing enhancements from mandatory to discretionary in the Unified Code of Corrections and Criminal Code of 2012.

For first degree murder: 15 years armed with firearm, 20 years for personal discharge, and 25 years or life for discharge causing great bodily harm or death may (instead of shall) be added to the sentence.

For attempt to commit first degree murder: applies same discretionary 15, 20, and 25-years-or-life firearm enhancements that previously were mandatory.

Preserves mandatory natural life sentences for specific circumstances including prior first degree murder conviction, multiple victims, or murders of peace officers, emergency workers, or corrections employees.
