IL SB2221

Amends the Illinois Pension Code to restrict participation in the General Assembly Retirement System by Senate members to those who became participants before the effective date of this Act.

Prohibits the General Assembly Retirement System from accepting any new Senate member participants beginning on the Act's effective date.

Makes conforming changes to the definition of "Member" in the pension code to clarify that Senate members cannot join the system unless they were already participants before the Act takes effect.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
