IL SB2292

Establishes the Bridge to Community Supports for Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities Waiver Program to serve individuals aged 18-26 who have recently graduated from high school or are no longer eligible for special education services.

Provides self-directed service choices up to $15,000 per individual per year, including day activities, employment training, health and wellness support, education, assistive technology, respite services, independent living skills, behavioral supports, and community experiences.

Department of Healthcare and Family Services must apply to federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for a Section 1115 research and demonstration waiver within 180 days to establish the program.

Eligible participants receive services until they are removed from the Prioritization for Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS) database or reach age 27, whichever occurs first.

Implementation is subject to federal approval under the Social Security Act.
