IL SB2315

Amends the Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Hair Braiding, and Nail Technology Act of 1985 to accept online continuing education with verified attendance systems completed before January 1, 2022 as meeting renewal requirements for cosmetologists, estheticians, nail technicians, and hair braiders.

Applies the online education acceptance provision to continuing education requirements for all four professional license types (cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, and hair braiding) and their teacher certifications.

Maintains existing continuing education hour requirements: 14 hours for cosmetologists, 10 hours for estheticians, 10 hours for nail technicians, and 10 hours for hair braiders, with higher requirements for teachers in each category.

Preserves all existing exemption provisions allowing the Department to waive continuing education requirements for licensees with demonstrated hardship, geographic access issues, military service, or incapacity due to illness.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
