IL SB2322

Creates the Opioid Settlement Fund as a special fund in the State Treasury to receive all settlement funds from opioid-related lawsuits involving manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and associated business entities.

Requires all opioid settlement funds received by Illinois be deposited into the Fund for purposes related to alleviating the opioid crisis.

Dedicates portions of Fund moneys to expand access to opioid use disorder treatment, provide funding to safety net substance use treatment providers, and maximize federal matching funds for opioid crisis alleviation.

Allocates at least $100,000 annually to the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association to cover application and testing fees for substance use disorder and mental health services professionals.

Effective immediately upon becoming law.
