IL SB2336

Amends the Downstate Teacher Article of the Illinois Pension Code to expand the definition of "teacher" under the Downstate Teachers' Retirement System.

Adds chief administrative officers of education service centers established under Section 2-3.62 of the School Code to the definition of "teacher," but only for those serving areas outside cities with 500,000 or more inhabitants.

Requires such chief administrative officers to be certificated under teacher certification laws and work in educational programs serving 2 or more school districts under joint agreements.

Applies to individuals employed by and under supervision of regional superintendents of schools or the specified education service center administrators.
