IL SB2373

Amends the Drug Court Treatment Act to include judicial monitoring according to Illinois Supreme Court rules in the definition of "drug court."

Expands the definition of "drug court" to include any court that primarily accepts defendants charged with driving while impaired with alcohol or drugs.

Eliminates the requirement for prosecutor agreement to admit defendants charged with Class 2 or greater felonies involving manufacturing, delivery, trafficking, or drug conspiracy under the Cannabis Control Act, Illinois Controlled Substances Act, or Methamphetamine Control and Community Protection Act.

Removes the restriction that defendants who have previously completed, been discharged from, or been terminated from drug court programs on 3 or more occasions require prosecutor consent for admission.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
