SB2377 Summary

• Amends the Probation and Probation Officers Act to require the Division of Probation Services to reimburse counties for 100% of salaries for probation officers and supervisors approved for pretrial services programs and specialty court programs.

• Establishes a phase-in schedule beginning July 1, 2022, transferring 20% of remaining basic services probation officer positions from the $1,000 per month reimbursement level to full 100% salary reimbursement each July 1st until all positions are transitioned.

• Removes language regarding intensive sanction and supervision programs from the approved positions receiving full reimbursement and adds explicit reference to pretrial services programs and specialty court programs.

• Blanks out the previous subsection (e) regarding travel expense reimbursement.
