Annual township meetings are held on the second Tuesday of April each year after 6 p.m. for transaction of township business.

Township boards may postpone the annual meeting to the first Tuesday following the last day of Passover or Ramadan if the scheduled date conflicts with either religious observance.

If a consolidated election is rescheduled to the second Tuesday in April under the Election Code, the annual township meeting shall be held on the third Tuesday in April instead.

Township boards may postpone the annual meeting if the Governor declares a disaster under the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act and disaster-related circumstances prevent holding the meeting, with the postponed meeting scheduled for the third Tuesday of the following month.

If a subsequent disaster is declared before or one day after the previous disaster declaration expires, the township board must obtain written approval from the county health department to proceed with the annual meeting during the subsequent disaster.
