IL SB2533

Requires each of the four legislative leaders to appoint at least one member of the general public to the Legislative Ethics Commission, which currently consists of 8 commissioners

Prohibits the Legislative Ethics Commission from adopting any rule requiring the Legislative Inspector General to seek advance approval before commencing an investigation, voiding any existing such rule

Transfers authority to release summary reports from the Legislative Ethics Commission to the Legislative Inspector General for cases where subjects are found guilty of fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, misconduct, or violations of ethics laws

Expands mandatory public disclosure from cases resulting in 3+ day suspensions or terminations to all cases where the subject is found guilty of allegations, with release required within 60 days

Allows the Legislative Inspector General to publish other summary reports without prior approval from the Legislative Ethics Commission
