SB2541 Summary

• Amends the Stalking No Contact Order Act to explicitly include electronic communication in the definition of "contact," with electronic communication defined according to Section 26.5-0.1 of the Criminal Code of 2012.

• Modifies the Civil No Contact Order Act to authorize courts to restrain respondents from having any electronic communication with petitioners as part of civil no contact order relief.

• Removes the "for a fee" requirement from the definition of "internet dating service" in the Internet Dating, Internet Child Care, Internet Senior Care, and Internet Home Care Safety Act, expanding the scope of services covered.

• Makes a corresponding change to the Dating Referral Services Act to align its provisions with the Internet Dating Safety Act regarding the fee requirement for dating referral services.
