IL SB2552

Creates the Northern Illinois Airport Authority within Lake County to maintain, develop, and operate the Waukegan National Airport and the Waukegan Marina and Harbor.

Establishes the Authority 30 days after board members are appointed and the Secretary of State issues a certificate of incorporation.

Dissolves the Waukegan Port District upon establishment of the Authority, with all property, assets, liabilities, and bonded indebtedness transferring to the new Authority.

Board of Commissioners consists of members residing within Lake County: existing Waukegan Port District board members serve remaining terms, with future successors appointed by Lake County board chairman (four seats for six-year terms) and Waukegan mayor (three seats for six-year terms).

Repeals the Waukegan Port District Act.
