IL SB2912

Expands the qualifications for county superintendent of public works beyond registered professional engineer to include individuals with an engineering degree from an accredited institution or at least 10 years of professional, management-level experience in a municipal or county public works department

Requires that at least one employee in the county public works department be a certified registered professional engineer or hold an engineering degree from an accredited institution

Applies the same expanded superintendent qualifications to departments managed by a board of public works (5-member appointed board structure)

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
