IL SB2945

Creates the Statewide 9-8-8 Trust Fund in the State treasury to be administered by the Department of Human Services for establishing and maintaining a statewide 9-8-8 suicide prevention and mental health crisis system

Fund consists of General Assembly appropriations, grants, gifts, interest and earnings, and moneys from other sources deposited or transferred to the Fund

Moneys in the Fund do not revert at the end of fiscal years and remain available for Fund purposes; funds cannot be transferred to other funds or used for purposes outside those specified in the Act

Requires annual reports of Fund deposits and expenditures to be submitted to the General Assembly and Federal Communications Commission

Amends the State Finance Act to add Section 5.970 establishing the Statewide 9-8-8 Trust Fund
