Requires group and individual health insurance policies, managed care plans, and HMOs to cover medically necessary continuous glucose monitors for individuals diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who require insulin for diabetes management, effective January 1, 2024

Applies the coverage mandate to state employee health benefits programs administered under the State Employees Group Insurance Act

Extends the continuous glucose monitor coverage requirement to self-insured counties, municipalities, and school districts providing health insurance to their employees

Adds the coverage requirement to the Illinois Public Aid Code, requiring the Medicaid medical assistance program to provide continuous glucose monitor coverage

Updates multiple Illinois statutes including the Illinois Insurance Code, Health Maintenance Organization Act, Limited Health Service Organization Act, and Voluntary Health Services Plans Act to incorporate the new coverage mandate
