• Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) licensed under the Nurse Practice Act may administer radiation through fluoroscopes in hospitals, hospital affiliates, or ambulatory surgical treatment centers without supervision or prescription from a licensed physician.

• Exempts APRNs performing fluoroscopic radiation from accreditation requirements that typically apply to other radiation administrators under the Radiation Protection Act of 1990.

• Amends both the Hospital Licensing Act and the Radiation Protection Act of 1990 to establish this new authority for APRNs in specified healthcare settings.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
