Adds "physician assistant" to the definition of "certifying health care professional" who may complete and sign death certificates, provided they practice under a written collaborative agreement that includes this authority.

Allows physician assistants to complete medical death certificates in the absence of or with approval of the treating physician, similar to existing provisions for advanced practice registered nurses.

Defines "physician assistant" in the Vital Records Act as one who practices in accordance with a written collaborative agreement that includes completion of death certificates.

Amends the Vital Records Act (410 ILCS 535) Sections 1 and 18 to expand who may certify cause of death on official death certificates.
