Permits courts in counties with populations above 250,000 to offer remote hearing options to petitioners seeking protective orders, with courts having discretion to grant or deny such requests.

Requires courts offering remote hearings to publish court orders, standing orders, or local rules on their websites and post signs in courthouses explaining the process for requesting and participating in remote hearings.

Maintains expedited proceeding status for all protective order petitions and allows petitions to continue independently even if related criminal proceedings are dismissed or result in acquittal.

Ensures protective order petitions filed as emergencies remain confidential until served on the respondent.
