Bill Summary: SB3682 - Reducing Cervical Cancer and Saving Lives Act

• Requires hospitals, clinics, and other entities providing cervical cancer screening to prepare written reports of results and send a lay-person-friendly summary directly to patients, with recommendations to consult their healthcare provider about results.

• Directs the Department of Public Health to develop suggested cervical cancer screening reporting language in plain language and post it on the Department's website; reporting requirements become effective 6 months after the language is made public.

• Establishes an HPV vaccine pilot program through the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program for persons ages 26 and younger without full HPV vaccination and persons 26+ with certain cervical dysplasia diagnoses, to be implemented by July 1, 2024 and repealed June 30, 2027.

• Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to require Medicaid coverage of FDA-approved HPV vaccines for persons ages 9-45 and persons 46+ diagnosed with high-risk cervical dysplasia, with no preauthorization requirements allowed.
