Secretary of State must accept all school bus driver permit renewal materials and fees electronically and establish an online or electronic renewal process.

Secretary of State authorized to adopt emergency rules under the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act to implement the electronic renewal requirements, with this emergency authorization expiring 180 days after the bill becomes effective.

Existing school bus driver permit requirements remain unchanged, including background checks, medical examinations, training courses, and disqualifying criminal convictions and traffic offenses.

Bill takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
