IL SB3833

Adds physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and athletic trainers to the list of mandatory reporters of child abuse and neglect.

Requires all mandated reporters to complete initial training within 3 months of engagement, including a section on implicit bias, and refresher training at least every 3 years (or every 6 years for medical personnel working with children).

Mandated reporter training must cover indicators of abuse and neglect, reporting procedures, trauma-informed responses to children, and the role of child protective services; implicit bias training must include pretest, training task, and posttest components.

Medical personnel with licensure must attest at renewal that they understand their mandated reporter obligations, reporting procedures, trauma-informed care, and the role of child protective services.

Allows one designated reporter from multiple mandated reporters in the same workplace to make a single report if they share reasonable cause to believe a child is abused or neglected, provided written confirmation is given within 48 hours.
