IL SB3863

Amends the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004 by modifying Section 10-5 regarding license requirements.

Makes a technical correction by removing a redundant word "the" in subsection (a) describing unlawful activities for individuals operating without proper licenses.

Maintains existing licensing requirements for private detectives, security contractors, alarm contractors, fingerprint vendors, and locksmiths, with exemptions for sole proprietors using "doing business as" certifications.

Preserves regulations requiring branch office licenses, fingerprint vendor training and licensure, and canine handler/trainer licensing requirements under the Department.

Section is scheduled for repeal on January 1, 2024.
