Department of Healthcare and Family Services must submit an annual report by December 31 to the General Assembly on access to applied behavior analysis therapy for persons with autism spectrum disorder.

Report must include the number of providers certified to deliver applied behavioral analysis services in Illinois Medical Assistance Program fee-for-service and managed care systems.

Report must track the number of HFS-enrolled children with autism spectrum disorder receiving applied behavior analysis therapy and the number for whom services were recommended but not received.

Report must document prior authorization denials for applied behavioral analysis therapy services and related appeals for HFS-enrolled children with autism spectrum disorder diagnosis.

Department must develop and distribute education and outreach materials to inform parents of Medicaid-enrolled children with autism spectrum disorder about available services and how to access them.
