Requires group and individual health insurance policies, managed care plans, and self-insured government entities to cover preventative liver disease screenings for high-risk individuals ages 18-64 every 6 months

Covered screenings include liver ultrasounds and alpha-fetoprotein blood tests, with no deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, or other cost-sharing requirements

Applies to State Employees Group Insurance, county and municipal self-insured plans, school district employee insurance, HMOs, limited health service organizations, voluntary health service plans, and Medicaid

Adds new Section 356z.53 to the Illinois Insurance Code and makes conforming amendments to multiple existing statutes governing various types of health coverage
