Increases minimum widow's annuity for Chicago police officers from 125% to 150% of the Federal Poverty Level, effective January 1, 2023.

Increases minimum widow's annuity for Chicago firefighters from 125% to 150% of the Federal Poverty Level, effective January 1, 2023.

Federal Poverty Level is defined as poverty guidelines for a single-person household in Illinois, as updated annually by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Exempts municipalities from state reimbursement requirements under the State Mandates Act for costs associated with implementing these minimum annuity increases.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
