Adds "mental health" to the criteria for professional development activities that educators with Professional Educator Licenses may pursue for license renewal, alongside existing criteria related to student learning, social or emotional achievement, and well-being

Permits (but does not require) school districts to include a unit of instruction on mental health covering causes, effects, and impact of mental health disorders, plus information about mental health resources available to students

Requires that any mental health instruction be appropriate for the student's educational level, with each school board determining the minimum instructional time

Directs the State Board of Education to prepare and distribute resource materials to school boards as guidelines for developing mental health curriculum units

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
