IL SB4220

Adds reproductive health care to the definition of "ancillary services" under Illinois Insurance Code Section 356z.3a, limiting balance billing when nonparticipating providers deliver these services at participating facilities.

Requires health insurers to file written policies and procedures describing how network plans will provide 24-hour, 7-day per week access to reproductive health care services.

Directs the Department of Insurance to consider establishing provider-to-beneficiary ratios specifically for reproductive health care physicians and other providers.

Effective July 1, 2023, except changes to Section 356z.3 take effect January 1, 2024.
