IL SB4232

Amends the Public Library District Act of 1991 to address vacancies that occurred before May 27, 2022 and remained unfilled at the time of enactment.

Requires the State Librarian to fill any pre-May 27, 2022 vacancy within 60 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act, rather than waiting for the next regularly scheduled election.

Makes a conforming change to Section 30-40 clarifying that vacancies in board offices shall be filled under the procedures established in Section 30-25.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
