Designates the section of I-72 between Decatur and Champaign as the "Officer Oberheim Memorial Highway" in honor of Champaign Police Officer Christopher Oberheim (badge #703).

Officer Oberheim was shot and killed on May 19, 2021, at approximately 3:20 a.m. while responding to a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex in the 3200 block of North Neil Street in Champaign.

Officer Oberheim began his law enforcement career at the Decatur Police Department in 2000 and transferred to the Champaign Police Department in 2008, where he received two Medals of Valor for his courageous acts of bravery.

Officer Oberheim was survived by his wife Amber, four daughters (Hannah, Avery, Addison, and Aubree), his parents, and five siblings, with two family members also serving as Decatur police officers.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is requested to erect plaques or signs at suitable locations along the highway giving notice of the "Officer Oberheim Memorial Highway" designation.
