Urges all Illinois agencies that create, store, or transfer law enforcement or criminal justice data to consider adopting Global JXDM (Global Justice Extensible Markup Language), an XML standard for criminal justice information exchanges.

Global JXDM enables law enforcement, public safety agencies, prosecutors, public defenders, and the judicial branch to effectively share data with appropriate access control safeguards.

Adoption of this standard would increase capacity for research, data-driven policy decisions, and data sharing while reducing costs by eliminating redundant data processes caused by incompatible databases.

Directs that suitable copies of this resolution be delivered to all Illinois state agencies.
