• Designates May 25, 2022 as Trauma-Informed Awareness Day in Illinois to highlight the impact of trauma and importance of prevention and resilience through trauma-informed, healing-centered care.

• Encourages members of the General Assembly and staff to incorporate trauma-informed principles including safety, trustworthiness, collaboration, strengths-based approaches, and social justice into policymaking processes.

• Encourages state officers, agencies, and employees in the Governor's Office, State Board of Education, Department of Human Services, Department of Children and Family Services, Department of Public Health, Department of Juvenile Justice, and Department of Corrections to become informed about adverse childhood experiences, toxic stress, systemic racism, and other traumatic experiences.

• Calls for state agencies to implement evidence-based, racially-just, trauma-informed, healing-centered care practices and interventions that promote positive experiences and build individual and community resilience.
