Illinois Senate mourns the death of Paul Russell Santy of Rosewood Heights, who passed away on September 28, 2021.

Santy served as principal of East Alton Junior High School District 13 for 28 years and taught at Roxana Junior and Senior High Schools for four years; he earned a master's degree in School Administration from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

Served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on a destroyer, earning two Bronze Stars for providing fire support and supplies to Army units and guerrilla groups.

Was past-president of the Roxana Teacher's Association, member of multiple education organizations, life member of VFW Post 1308 and American Legion Post 794, and active in community service including Boy Scouts fundraising.

Senate extends condolences to his surviving sons, grandchildren, brother, nieces, and other family members; a copy of the resolution will be presented to his family.
