Joseph B. Stokes passed away on March 9, 2022, at age 35 (born April 22, 1986)

Served as physical education teacher at Holy Family School in North Lawndale, cultivating individual relationships with students and encouraging them to be their best selves

Played football in high school and college, previously coached at Proviso East High School, and was a passionate football enthusiast

Survived by two sons, ages 13 and 15, with whom he spent considerable time and who are both involved in sports

Illinois Senate extends condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones and directs a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to his family
