Susan was born March 21, 1950, in Bloomington to Ralph and Margaret Beecher; she married Frank Curtiss on August 11, 1973, and raised two daughters in Rowe

She worked at the Pontiac branch of The American Lung Association, served as secretary for Pontiac Township and acting supervisor for Esmen Township, and held multiple board positions with Township Officials of Illinois and Township Supervisors of Illinois

Susan was a 37-year breast cancer survivor, active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Pontiac Rotary Club, and master crocheter who enjoyed spending time with family and friends

Senate extends sincere condolences to her surviving family including her husband Frank, two daughters, three grandsons, two brothers, and numerous relatives and friends
