Illinois Senate commemorates the death of Myron J. "Mike" Sholem, who passed away on May 19, 2022, at age 98.

Sholem was born February 23, 1924, in St. Louis, Missouri; served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II; attended the University of Illinois; and married Sonya Ades on August 29, 1950.

Managed Sholem's Shoes, a family business established in Paris, Illinois in 1872, and later engaged in family farm management and real estate development; served on boards of Champaign National Bank, Mercy Hospital, and Champaign Salvation Army.

Survived by his wife of 71 years, two sons (David and Barry), five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and his brother Stanford "Tank" Sholem and sister-in-law Susan.

Senate extends sincere condolences to Sholem's family and directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to his family.
