Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of Walter Lee Singleton, who passed away on May 7, 2022

Singleton was born October 27, 1939, in Carthage, Mississippi; moved to Chicago after high school and married Bernice McDonald on June 3, 1962

Founded Clothes and Clothes Boutique in 1983 at 113th and Halsted, and expanded with Brock's For Men in 1992; was a respected businessman in the fashion industry and member of the 95th Street Business Association

Co-founded nursery/kindergarten programs Bunnyland and Learn As You Grow with his wife; was a faithful member of Victory Apostolic Church in Matteson starting in 1996

Survived by wife Bernice, three children, nine grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends; a suitable copy of the resolution shall be presented to his family
