Memorializes former Illinois State Representative Suzanne L. Deuchler of Aurora, who passed away.

Deuchler served as Republican state representative for the 42nd district from 1981 to 1999 and previously served on the Kane County Board for four years.

Championed women's issues including abortion rights and the Equal Rights Amendment, and was instrumental in establishing the Nelson Lake Nature Preserve, Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora, and the Orchard Road interchange with Interstate 88 (renamed Suzanne Deuchler Honorary Interchange in 2018).

Served as president of the local League of Women Voters and participated in numerous nonprofit boards including the Aurora Historical Society, Rush Copley Medical Center Governing Board, and NAMI KDK.

Survived by her husband of 71 years, Walter Deuchler; two children; and multiple grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
