Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of Paul Herman Uphoff of Graymont, who passed away on June 24, 2022.

Uphoff was born October 6, 1942, to Clarence J. and Lydia Uphoff; he attended Flanagan Schools where he was active in FFA and won the National Farm Mechanics Award, later serving in the Illinois National Guard.

Uphoff married Sarah Lebo on July 26, 1969, and worked on the family farm throughout his life, including operating a Columbia sheep business with his family and attending the annual National Show and Sale.

Uphoff was committed to his faith, serving as a youth sponsor and Sunday School teacher at St. John's Lutheran Church and later providing support to Graymont Baptist Church.

Uphoff is survived by his wife of 53 years, five children, 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sibling, and one Uphoff baby expected in August.
