Memorial resolution honoring Dr. Philip Twiss Siegert, M.D., who passed away on July 12, 2022

Dr. Siegert earned his B.S. from University of Illinois (1962), M.D. (1966), and M.S. in Surgery (1969), and served as a major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps as deputy commander of the military hospital at Fort Stewart, Georgia

Practiced as a general surgeon in the Quad Cities area from 1973 until retirement in 2004, holding medical leadership positions at multiple hospitals and serving as Director of Trauma for Trinity Medical Center Systems from 1995 to 2006

Served as president of the Illinois Chapter of the American College of Surgeons (1994-1995) and as ACS Governor representing Illinois (1996-2002); the Illinois Chapter created the Dr. Philip T. Siegert Fellows Service Award in his honor

Survived by his wife of 62 years, Pamela Froom Siegert, five children, and numerous grandchildren
