Russell Duane Poppy of Moline passed away on July 20, 2022; he was born December 7, 1932, to Frank and Ferne (Shattuck) Poppy in Galesburg.

Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Carole Ann Redmann on June 29, 1962; his wife preceded him in death on September 18, 2012.

Worked for John Deere Plow Planter for over 27 years before retiring on January 1, 1992, then worked as a bus driver for Ridgecrest Retirement Village for over 10 years.

Member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Moline and Moline American Legion Post #246; enjoyed camping, playing Farkle with family, and watching westerns.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to his surviving family: five daughters, eight grandchildren, and one sister; a suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to his family.
