Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of Major Charles Robert Harper, U.S. Air Force (Ret) of Moline, who died on July 25, 2022.

Charles Harper was born September 1, 1931, in Powersville, Missouri, graduated from Powersville High School in 1949, and married Shirley Ask Scott on November 9, 1976.

Harper served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War (1950-1972) and the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, completing flight training in January 1957 and attaining the rank of major.

Harper worked as airport manager of the Davenport Municipal Airport in Davenport, Iowa until his retirement in 1992.

Harper is survived by his wife Shirley, five children, twelve grandchildren, and his brother Jesse Harper.
