Michael Lee "Mike" Glassner passed away on August 3, 2022, having been born on April 4, 1947 in Chicago to Fred and Barbara Glassner.

Glassner overcame significant health challenges, including brain damage from encephalitis contracted at six months old, and received speech therapy and special education through Augustana College and Horace Mann Elementary School.

He obtained his driver's license by taking the test orally and held multiple jobs including positions at Jewel Supermarket, Ericksen Chevrolet, and as a custodian at corporate offices and schools.

Glassner was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Jared Carver, and is survived by siblings Ron Glassner, Deborah Jennings, and Marcia Carver along with other family members and friends.

The Illinois Senate mourns Glassner's passing and extends condolences to his family and friends, with a suitable copy of the resolution to be presented to his family.
