Illinois Senate mourns the death of Donald F. "Don" Pickard of Oak Park, who passed away on May 2, 2022 at age 86.

Pickard graduated from Knox College in 1957 as a Phi Beta Kappa member and served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Airborne Infantry before joining Illinois Bell Telephone Company in 1959.

He advanced to assistant vice president of Ameritech before retiring in 1990 and was a passionate supporter of the arts, serving on the Chicago Auditorium Theater board during the 1980s.

Pickard was a dedicated member of Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, serving as a deacon and elder.

Senate extends condolences to his surviving family, including his wife Roylene, two children, five stepchildren, 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
