James Francis "Jim" Flynn of West Peoria passed away on September 1, 2022, at age 88, having been born July 6, 1934

Served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1953 to 1961 and was a 69-year member of Plumbers Union Local 63, holding positions including president and business manager until retiring in 1993

Held public office as alderman for the City of West Peoria and township trustee of West Peoria Township, and was named grand marshal of the West Peoria 4th of July Parade in 2016

Co-founded the Flynn Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis and received multiple awards for his advocacy, including the Breath of Life Award in 2011 and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Volunteer of the Year Award in 2012

Survived by his wife Trish, five children, 19 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren
