Illinois Senate mourns the death of Robert J. "Bob" Krawczyk, a Chicago-born architect and educator who earned degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago and DePaul University.

Krawczyk served as Professor of Architecture and associate dean at Illinois Institute of Technology for over 30 years, developing computer-aided and digital design coursework and founding the art@IIT campus gallery.

Authored "The Codewriting Workbook: Creating Computational Architecture in AutoLISP" and founded BitArt, a company designing and manufacturing architecture-inspired pieces for decor, fashion, and lifestyle products.

Received numerous professional awards including the Building Design & Construction Young Professional Award, American Institute of Architects Young Architect Award, and ACADIA Award for Teaching Excellence; nominated four consecutive times as a United States Artists Fellow.

Survived by his wife Corinne, daughter Alexis, stepdaughter Catherine, stepson James, grandchildren, brothers Konrad and Albert, and various nieces and nephews.
