Memorial resolution mourning the death of Richard Henry "Rich" Niemann Sr., who passed away on September 25, 2022.

Niemann was born February 18, 1931, and became president of Niemann Foods in 1969, developing it into a company operating 130 retail stores across five states including Harvest Market, County Market, and Save-A-Lot.

Served in leadership roles for Food Marketing Institute, Illinois Food Retailers Association, Quincy University, St. Mary Hospital, and numerous civic organizations including Rotary Club of Quincy.

Established the Niemann Foods Foundation in 2006 with his sons to benefit children and families, and partnered with Quincy University to establish the Connie Niemann Center for Music in 2013.

Survived by his wife of over 70 years, seven children, numerous grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren; Senate expresses condolences to his family.
