Senate Resolution mourning the death of Edward A. "Ed" Welvaert of Moline, who passed away on September 25, 2022.

Welvaert was born January 2, 1929, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart, and worked as a telephone repairman for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 38.5 years until retiring in January 1991.

Welvaert was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Ex-Servicemen's Club and participated in an Honor Flight with his son on May 23, 2013.

Welvaert is survived by his wife Vicki of 66 years, two children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to Welvaert's family and friends and directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to his family.
