• Cantrell worked as a highway maintainer for the Illinois Department of Transportation and previously owned Cantrell Trucking

• Founded the Dream Center Foundation to help children learn basics of life and operated a food truck for the foundation at Morgan County events

• Served as a Jacksonville School District board member since 2007, coached baseball and youth sports, and was active in the Murrayville United Methodist Church and FFA Alumni

• Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his surviving wife Alice, four children, mother, stepchildren, and extended family
